The technology and our lifestyles are changing quickly, and a lot of things are developing with and without control. Having animals in the house is not a new concept for most people. Many of us have grown up with quite traditional domestic animals such as dog, cat, bird, fish or hamster, and are used to share both food and sleeping space with these animals. But why do some people choose to bring exotic and other animals into Norwegian households? In the future; will snakes, spiders, pigs and alpacas be the new playmates? I will make an image series with a humorous touch, where I take the bond between these unusual livestock and their owners - and to show how normal this actually can be. Nowadays, many people use their animals as an extension of their identity and are an expression of self-realization in a homogenized society. This is an aspect I think is very exciting and want to investigate more about.
